Hand and Foot Pain | Jonesboro AR | Myshka Chiropractic

When spinal bones are misaligned, pain and dysfunction are often the result. The tiny bones of our hands and feet are no different. When they are out of place, the results are often uncomfortable and painful—and often misdiagnosed. With proper chiropractic adjustment, there are many issues that originate in the hands and feet that can be avoided or resolved.

There are 27 tiny bones in every foot and 26 little bones in every hand. Every day, we put a tremendous amount of stress on these extremities, from standing and walking, to carrying heavy things or typing on our phones and computers for hours at a time. It’s no wonder that sometimes they are pushed and pulled out of their natural position.

Treatment of Hand and Foot Pain

Gentle, specific adjustments to the feet and hands can make a world of difference when it comes to alleviating pain and helping your body to function properly.

Dr. Myshka provides hand and foot adjustments that restore function, provide relief, and address the cause, not the symptoms, of the problem.

Though most people think of spinal adjustments when they consider chiropractic care, joints in the hands, elbows, shoulders, wrists, feet, knees and ankles are often a source of pain. In fact, it is not uncommon for misaligned bones in the extremities to be the source of back pain and other discomfort.

Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is a tissue inflammation that causes pain to shoot into one or both of your feet near the heel, usually within the first few steps you take after waking in the morning, or after sitting or resting for a period of time.

Common in runners, people who are overweight, or people whose shoes do not have enough support, the pain caused by plantar fasciitis often comes along after exercise, but not often during activity.

Many of the most common treatments for plantar fasciitis are centered around addressing the symptoms, not the cause of the pain. Orthotics, foot straps, injections, and even surgery are common solutions for plantar fasciitis, but are they really the most effective?

Think about it: what do runners, people who are overweight, and people whose shoes don’t support their feet all have in common? The answer is stress and pressure on the feet.

Over time, or as the result of an acute injury, the tiny bones of the feet can shift out of their natural position, especially in parts of the feet that receive the most impact. The heels can be especially vulnerable because they take the brunt of a lot of the everyday activities we all do.

That’s why, often, the best treatment for plantar fasciitis is chiropractic manipulation and adjustment of the feet. Not only does chiropractic care address the pain, but it fixes the source of the problem.

At Myshka Chiropractic in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Dr. Susan Myshka has been successfully treating plantar fasciitis and other foot problems with chiropractic care for three decades.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Like our feet, our hands endure a lot of strain from repeated use and even abuse. The tiny bones of our wrists and hands take a beating every day, and it is not uncommon for them to become misaligned. The result is often tingling, numbness, and/or pain in our hands that can lead to carpal tunnel syndrome and other problems.

By making chiropractic adjustments to these bones, symptoms can be alleviated and proper motion can be restored. Dr. Susan Myshka has been working with people’s hands so that their hands can work for them for over three decades.

By adjusting these tiny bones, the joints are able to move in their full range of motion. Pain is alleviated, and inflammation is reduced or eliminated in the surrounding tissues.
